Mr & Mrs Chapman

So I don't have an address of Nick and Lindsay althought I do have some pictures of their wedding. We had a fun mini mesp reunion. It was a whirlwind weekend and Iam curious to hear how Andrew made it back to Iowa...8 friends in a suburban camping all the way to Iowa. :-)
Nick and Lindsay's wedding was beauitful and very representative of who they are as people. They are in Burmuda on their honeymoon and will be living in Newberg for a while at least.
It is officail Brad and I are moving to Cairo August 20th....to begin our adventure. Please continue to pray for a good job to open up for him.
Congratulations for all of you who have just graduated (Bethany, Cecka, Clair, Andrew U, Marcia......who else did I miss?) what an accomplishment.
I love you all!

Address from Lindsay?

Hey all,

I pretty much got on the blog to look for an address to mail something to Lindsay. If anyone knows her addy, could you post it?

I wasn't really planning on saying too much, but I do really like when other people post things on the blog even if it's few and far between. Chris and I are coming up on our first anniversary, belive it or not. He just finished his first year as a grad student at Villanova and I'm still teaching daycare 1year and 8months on. Still keeping an eye for something more attractive, but it seems that regardless of what I send out or who I contact, my resume isn't making a splash. As such, I've started toying with the idea of going back to school for photography when Chris finishes his Masters. I'd really love to do photojournalism, though I'm not sure if I have the talent. So, it's just in the exploratory stages so far. Inshallah.

I tried to put up a few pictures because Liz is right, photos do add fun. There's one from a visit to the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC, one of our cat Paikea, one from our friend's wedding in November, one of me as Indiana Jones for school this past halloween, and one from when we went tubing during the winter.

Liz, congrats on starting grad school. Yey for you! Emily, I pray your schooling works out awesomely too.

Cairo??

It has been a whirlwind the last couple days and I keep forgetting who I have emailed and who I haven't. I wanted to let you know that I was offered a teaching fellowship at AUC, which I have accepted (because I only had a couple days to do so). It was a really competitive program but I got in and school would be FREE!
However the major draw back is that Brad doesn't have a job in Cairo. Over the last four days or so we have been sending his resume all over to people and schools. There are some part time jobs that he may be able to do (teaching at AUC in their continuing education program or an English Training center). The part time jobs would generate some income but probably not enough to cover our expenses (mainly Brad's school debt). The opportunity for me to study in Cairo would be great though and a much better fit than PSU.
I should be hearing about assistant ships and fellowships at Portland State this week.
Please pray for us as we try and discern God's will for our life. It we are supposed to be in Cairo next year some kind of teaching job for Brad that would earn us enough money to pay his loans and a little bit of rent. We don't want to choose an option just because it is safe, but want to be able to step out in faith that God will take care of us. We want our lives to be characterized by great faith in a God who yearns for us to trust him fully.
love Emily and Brad
p.s I thought you would all like to see a picture of spring in Oregon, something I would miss if we moved to Cairo. Who is coming for Lindsay's wedding? I will be there for sure :-)
