It's been a long time...

Hey, kids. It seems that the more time goes on, the longer time in-between posts, ey? That's okay. I've fallen into the "it has been so long since I have communicated that catching up will take forever, thus I am putting it off indefinately" trap. Boo on me.

I especially owe Corrine, Evan, Margaret, and Lindsay some individualized congrats, blessings, support, and love...I think letters will come in time, but in advance may I beg forgiveness for my tardiness.

I must admit, I am a little lost as to who has recently been in, who is currently in, and who is going in the future to Egypt/the Middle East. I think that Dena, Jenna, Steve, Paul, Cecka, Claire, and maybe Emily are all part of that equation somewhere, but some of the details are foggy. Am I wrong? Missing anyone?

Nothing seismic has changed in my life on the macro level. I am still in AmeriCorps Cape Cod, (http://www.rdoac.org/americorps/) my term of service goes until July 27 this year. It continues to be interesting, stimulating, fun, and fulfilling to meet all kinds of critical needs in the community full time. My 13 housemates are quirky, human, and wonderful. I love the mix of working outside two days a week and having an office job on the three others.

Although the pictures below are not fully indicative of the scope of our work....hey, I look badass. That, or the equally important stuff I do at a desk isn't so photogenic. Either way, I am including them.

Haha. Don't let the rapturous grin fool you. I had a 16 hour training class, and I am very cautious and sensible with the thing. As you can see, with fire and fast sharp things, my passions are met in AmeriCorps. :o)

Haven't decided exactly what I am doing afterwards, and I'm cool with that. Some thoughts kicking around have included, of all things, studying Arabic abroad! I'm either very masochistic or very forgetful of the past, you see. I'll keep you posted as clouds in the sky materialize into actions.

In the meantime, you all keep me and everyoe else posted on your lives, okay? That was a poorly constructed sentence, but you get the point. What Kroeze said.

with love,
chels
